All men fear death. It’s a natural fear that consumes us all. We fear death because we feel that we haven’t loved well enough or loved at all, which ultimately are one and the same. However, when you make love with a truly great woman, one that deserves the utmost respect in this world and one that makes you feel truly powerful, that fear of death completely disappears. Because when you are sharing your body and heart with a great woman the world fades away. You two are the only ones in the entire universe. You conquer what most lesser men have never conquered before, you have conquered a great woman’s heart, the most vulnerable thing she can offer to another. Death no longer lingers in the mind. Fear no longer clouds your heart. Only passion for living, and for loving, become your sole reality. This is no easy task for it takes insurmountable courage. But remember this, for that moment when you are making love with a woman of true greatness you will feel immortal.

So I had no voice at work today, and since I work at the Disney Store I had a little note pad, in which I wrote, “Can’t speak, Ursula the Sea Witch stole my voice! But I’m happy to assist you!” And a little girl came up to me, read my notepad, grabbed my hand, and dragged me all around the store, asking random guys if they’d like to be my “true love” so I can get my voice back and stay human. …it was the most adorable, awkward situation I had ever been in. Una collana. Mille significati. Un cerchio e un brillantino. La vita, l'infinito, il destino curioso e inaspettato che ha fatto sì che ci incontrassimo. Tu.

Orgogliosa e fiera di portarla al collo ogni sacrosanto giorno per mostrare al mondo il legame della nostra relazione. Tu eri quel brillantino luccicante all'interno di quel cerchio che era la mia vita.

Ma il cerchio infinito si è spezzato. Ora c'è una farfalla. Il simbolo più facile per rappresentare Madama Butterfly, colei che per amore si suicidò perchè il dolore era troppo grande da sopportare. Il suo evolvere da bruco a farfalla e la breve durata della sua esistenza la rendono metafora del cambiamento, della rinascita, della fugacità della vita, così come simboleggia la leggerezza, la libertà. Anche questa volta c'è un brillantino. Ma non appartiene a nessuno.

Questa volta non è simbolo d'amore. Rappresenta il vuoto, il dolore immenso nel quale sono sprofondata, che non mi fa vivere. In parte ti rappresenta. In qualche modo quel brillantino sei di nuovo tu, con la speranza un giorno che si trasformi in felicità.
