La nonna in nero
In questa crisi economica esiste una variabile poco considerata dagli esperti: i nonni. Sono loro gli elargitori inesausti dei tre beni che latitano di più: amore, tempo, denaro. Sì, denaro. Il crollo delle «paghette» infantili è uno degli effetti meno denunciati ma più profondi dell’impoverimento collettivo, anche perché si abbatte su una fascia della popolazione che negli ultimi decenni aveva goduto di un benessere ininterrotto e crescente, sovvenzionato dai familiari con generosità talvolta eccessiva. Ma era inevitabile che i genitori, dopo aver tirato la cinghia in proprio, cominciassero a stringere quella della prole. A Parigi hanno pubblicato uno studio che rivela i numeri del declino: la paghetta media del ragazzino francese è scesa a 20 euro al mese, se maschio, e a 17 se femmina, essendo le pari opportunità un artificio retorico che si tende a rinnegare fin dall’infanzia.
Su questo quadro fosco di ristrettezze si staglia un salvagente brizzolato: i nonni. Tocca a loro rimpinguare le entrate dei nipoti, e a farlo di nascosto, addestrandoli fin da piccoli alla pratica dei guadagni non dichiarati. Il vero dramma è che in un’epoca di lavori precari e sottopagati la funzione supplente esercitata dai nonni non si placa col raggiungimento della laurea o della maggiore età, ma prosegue teoricamente all’infinito, essendo la vita dei nonni sempre più lunga e le possibilità di sistemarsi dei giovani sempre più rare. Il risultato è una società in cui i nonni mantengono i nipoti con i risparmi che pensavano di lasciare in eredità ai figli.
